The exhibition is an initiative of ACVIC Centre d’Arts Contemporànies and Centre de Recursos Pedagògics d'Osona.
The exhibition showcases a diversity of approaches to the concept of CONTACT, from the projects involved in the 15th edition of Art and School.
From a transatlantic letter to electrical connections, we invite visitors to explore what happens when we connect with techniques and materials, with the environment, with others, and with ourselves.
Contact may be internal or external, bodily or emotional. It manifests in both verbal and non-verbal communication. Through relational practices, sensory experiences, and experimental processes, these projects centre upon the body as a test surface, highlighting bodily awareness and demonstrating that contact is not neutral; that it transforms, leaves traces, imprints, scars.
Along the way visitors will find works that will invite them to participate. It is not just about looking, but also about interacting, playing, exploring, and reflecting upon those things which words cannot cover; thinking with your hands, seeing with your fingers, speaking with your body.
Contact is also addressed beyond words, through resources such as ARASAAC pictograms, or systems such as Braille, which offer other forms of relationship, access, and understanding.
Contact is also deployed as a social network; links, coexistence and community. Correspondences and collaborations form a collective fabric which is made visible in the exhibition space.
Finally, the projects highlight those forms of tacit knowledge which form part of personal or collective experience, unformalised, and difficult to transmit without direct experience.
