WORK IN PROCESS

JornadesCAPP Madrid Tabakalera WebCollaborative Artístic Practices Festival
31.1.18 – 02.02.18

As the culmination of the European “Collaborative Arts Partnership Programme” project, CAPP (2014-2018), in which ACVic has collaborated, the association Hablarenarte has organised Work In Process, the International Festival of Collaborative Artistic Practices.

The festival will take place between the 31st of January and the 2nd of February at the Medialab Prado, and is an open and multidisciplinary meeting which focuses upon artistic practices realised in the community context.

All artists participating in the CAPP programme will present projects developed in various contexts. Thus, ACVic, jointly with the A+ collective and artist Seila Fernández Arconada, presents Afluents, an artistic project which took place in Vic between June and November of 2017.

This conintental network – CAPP – brings together different institutions with the aim of working in collaborative art, which means, that artistic practice based upon a process of creation shared between an artist or institution and a non-artistic community or collective, as is the case with Afluents.

In addition to Afluents, 14 other projects will be presented which reflect upon the social role of art in the 21st century, but also to invite debate upon the future of the artistic disciplines, increasingly more open and permeable in creative processes.

ORIGIN OF THE CAPP NETWORK

In November 2014, the cultural association hablarenarte and eight European partners – Create Ireland (Dublin, Ireland), Agora (Berlin, Germany), Heart of Glass (Liverpool, GB), Kunsthalle Osnabrück (Osnabrück, Germany), Live Art Development Agency (London), Tate Liverpool (Liverpool, GB), Ludwig Múzeum (Budapest, Hungary) m-cult (Helsinki, Finland) – formed the Collaborative Arts Partnership Programme (CAPP), a research network for collaborative art and the proliferation of such practices, beginning their activities in the second half of 2015.

With this purpose, hablarenarte formed – at the same time – a network of four collaborating arts centres across Spain – ACVic (Vic, Catalonia), Centre Huarte (Huarte, Navarra), Medialab-Prado (Madrid), Tabakalera ( Donosti, Basque Country). The CAPP network has enjoyed a four year run (2014 – 2018), and has been supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe programme, and Acción Cultural Española (AC/E).
