SPEAKING TO THE WATER with Eulàlia Valldosera
A theoretical and practical session with the artist

These are writings that link with a female genealogy of the word, which has never once given up the right to spread its wings freely; vulnerable, but rooted in the source of meaning that is the mother tongue, the living language. Open-hearted writing that gives voice to many themes which have formerly been taboo, themes which we are now willing to talk about, and to know more about: female experiences of knowledge and transcendence, independent female pleasure, mystical activism, and the experience of universal love.

Thursday, 13th February, 7.00 p.m.
Sílvia Gubern
Talk and poetry reading by the artist

Silvia Gubern is a painter, a pioneer in conceptual art and a designer. She has thoroughly researched the sources which unify the three branches of knowledge: art, science and spirit. Her dictated writing has been collected in three poetry books, soon to be reprinted: "Imperdibles", "La Puerta de los Lindes" and "Poesia Cosmológica". She is interested in knowledge, which originates in the vibration and harmony  between our subjective voice and the whisper of the cosmos.  She believes that the opening of the senses leading to an expanded consciousness that takes us beyond limited mind-structures. The artist invites us to recover the healing power of words, which, as she writes, "are powerful and magical ideograms that spring out on the margin of self and mind."

Thursday 12th March, 7.00 p.m.
Mireia Sallarès
Presentation of the book Muertes Chiquitas: Un ensayo documental sobre el orgasmo
in l Foster and Wallace Bookshop (de la Riera, 20 Vic)

Presentation of the second edition of Mireia Sallarès’s Little Deaths, A Documentary Essay on Orgasms (Arcadia), a book that was originally published in 2010 and which complements the artist’s documentary film of the same name. It belongs to a project that she carried out in Mexico between 2006 and 2009. Starting out by asking questions regarding the experience of orgasm, Mireia Sallarès introduces herself in the first person, and talks to thirty very different women who share their experiences and thoughts. Pleasure is the common strand, which unravels into many other important themes in their lives such as sexuality, violence, death, ecology, love, illness, spirituality and the commitment of art with the everyday realities of women. Their words communicate to us "life as it is lived”, raw and precious material which Mireia Sallarès always places at the centre of her work, and which she believes that UNESCO should declare "World Heritage".

Saturday 11th July, 7.00 p.m.

Maia Creus, art historian
A lecture by the author and performative reading of Fina Miralles’s writings.

Fina Miralles, Paraules fèrtils, 1972-2017 are four volumes, which compile forty-five years of the artist's writings, transcribed and edited by art historian Maia Creus in a magnificent edition from the Fundació Arts, Sabadell(2018). The immense legacy of these writings is to teach us that Love is an organ of light for life, and a force for the ascension of the soul. The pathway of the heart recovers the lost connection between reason and compassion, and unfurls the prophetic intelligence that returns the voice of knowledge to experience. It is neither a mandate nor a challenge, but rather a willingness to listen to the movements of the heart and its prophetic rhythm, which is an intimate path towards freedom.

Saturday 25th July, 6.00 p.m.
Eulàlia Valldosera
A theoretical and practical session with the artist

The artist will lead us to the understanding and learning how to connect with the Water element as a creative engine, and as a source of healing. The artist, who claims to practice activist mysticism, will share a number of keys from her shamanic experience during a journey through southern Italy, where she made a discovery. She gives voice to one of the most powerful Mediterranean locations in antiquity, where the sisterhoods keep the interdimensional dialogue alive.
