From Col·lectiu A+ and ACVic Centre d’Arts Contemporànies, and in collaboration with Hablarenarte and the Collaborative Arts Partnership Programme, we invite you to the third debate about the Vic Tanneries.
In September 1992 the ground floor of the Convent building in the textile factory-colony complex Cal Rosal (Berguedà) was given over, by the company Bergolvan S.A.L., to Pep Espelt and other residents, in order to perform musical and theatrical activities. In 2005, to address the significant lack of local contemporary productions, the multidisciplinary arts festival konventpuntzero was started up, celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2015.
Konvent is a space, an association and a self-managed social and cultural project which ensures interaction between the local context and cultural production. The association freely displays the art and the work of individuals and groups involved, manages projects and exhibitions, co-produces and stimulates innovative projects on various themes, showing the true value of and revealing the potential of the territory.
Konvent is a way of making and doing, a philosophy of being and of understanding the involved everyday culture. As a unique and innovative model of cultural acculturation, the project has been recognised with national and international awards, has visible recognition within the cultural sector, and has become well-known within activist and university contexts, as well as within various media.
