SHAPING ABSENCE
Reflections upon the exhibition
Saturday 19.09.26
12 p.m. – 13.30 p.m.
A conversation between Maria Permanyer, curator and artist of the ESCOLLIR L’AMOR exhibition, and Noemí Morral, multidisciplinary creator after a process of grieving.
Free activity. Open to all members of the public. No prior registration required.
The conversation will explore the possibilities of creation as a way to move through absence, and to approach what is sometimes difficult to put into words. Words, images, texts, poems, or songs will serve as a starting point in a discussion about the need to create which often arises in the face of grief; expressing that which seems inexpressible, giving shape to what we feel and, perhaps, finding a way to relate to pain, and also to relate to that which is no longer there.
In conversation, the two guests will share experiences and questions, and will discuss how art can support us in our grieving processes. What might happen if such an intimate experience were to become visible, and touch other people? What is transformed when we share pain? A reflection upon creation as a space of memory, accompaniment, and transition, and a reflection upon the possibility of finding, in art, a new way of inhabiting absence.
