1. INTRODUCTION TO MEDIA MAPPING

REQUIREMENTS
Participants must have experience of using software tools. We also recommend a minimum of familiarity with the discipline of photography.
Each participant must have a laptop with the following free software installed: Blender, Inkscape, GIMP.
The course content may be adapted to other software options(free or proprietary), but the course will refer to these programmes in particular.

WHO IS AIMED AT?
This course is aimed at anyone interested in audiovisual disciplines who might wish to learn the principles underlying the technique of mapping. May be of interest to video artists, painters and visual artists in general, architects, stage designers, as well as people in education and other profiles who see in this discipline an experimental application and future.
INTRODUCTION
This workshop is an introduction to visual mapping, which is the technique that allows us to create three-dimensional and luminous illusions projecting light on actual volumes and patterns.
Through an introductory exercise projecting on a drawing / 2D surface, will learn the basic technical issues which enter into play in this discipline, which will also serve to introduce the 3D programme Blender. In addition, we will focus on the current state of the discipline, how a real project might be developed, and the most important artists and performances.
COURSE CONTENTS
1. Introduction: What is Mapping
1. Example of notable creations of mapping
2. basic concepts (2D and 3D): optical , light intensities, focus, geometric projection, positions of projector and audience, audio, production costs
3. Preparation of template, with attention to graphics and resolutions. Exercises:
1. Creating various graphic compositions.
2. Basic Animations with video editor of the compositions.
2. Practice 1 with projectors and Introduction to 3D
1. Fine tuning of the physical mapping installation, and projection of the previous day's exercises
2. Introduction to the interface and basic operations with Blender.
3. Introduction to 3D mapping techniques
1. Introduction to 3D concepts involved in producing a mapping; position of camera in relation to a digital model, and audience position in relation to the real model.
2. Putting together a template for projecting 3D content on 2D surface
4. Other production techniques and conclusions.
1. Fine-tuning of the physical mapping installation for the content developed the previous day.
2. Planning a mapping over a real cardboard box and fine-tuning of a real basic installation.
Complementary techniques of template-making and general mapping contents .
LECTURER
Raimon Guarro Nogués, artist and craftsman of digital image. He works in various media and records, from drawing the human figure to 3D creation, and also in photography. He works professionally in visual creation services, and provides training in the tools that make it possible.

2. WRITING FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF VISUAL ARTISTS

WHO IS AIMED AT?
To people – whether or not they are regular writers – who may wish to learn and practice new strategies to stimulate written creativity or creativity in any expressive language.
Teachers who may wish to incorporate and broaden new constructive strategies in the classroom.
INTRODUCTION
Throughout history, many visual artists have also been writers. Their work in each language may bear similarities, or may be entirely independent. In any case, their creative strategies in literature often involved aspects of visual creation.
We are not referring to artists who write about art or aesthetics (such as A. Tàpies, L. Bourgeois and R. Magritte) or writers who are also visual artists (as V. Hugo and M. Rodoreda), but artists who practice their creation in the two disciplines, such as M. Bashô, V. Kandinski, S. Dalí or A. Ràfols-Casamada.
There will be two parts to the workshop:
The first part will comprise creative exercises inspired by the writing of some of these authors, its methods, its beauty and its resources.
The second part: techniques and strategies of creativity in the visual arts to apply creativity in text, and also of techniques and strategies in textual creativity from visual artworks or visual artists.
All exercises will be aimed at creating written language, but can be applied to other expressive
languages.
The course will have an important practical component, but without forgetting the underlying theoretical elements, presentation, or explanation of those exercises and strategies which will not be practiced within the course.

LECTURER
Víctor Sunyol, writer, teacher and editor, currently teaches at the School of Art and Design at Vic. As a writer he regularly publishes books of poetry, essays and editorials. In the fields of creativity and creative writing, he has conducted numerous literary writing workshops and resource for creativity, both formal and non-formal education, and has posited reflections upon these issues at conferences and in articles. His book Màquines per a escriure(1992) has become a reference among manuals of creative writing. In 2013, he expanded upon and made further investigation of these techniques in the book Escriptura creativa. recursos i estratègies (Eumo ed.).

WHO IS AIMED AT?
Preschool and primary school teachers, but also of interest to all professionals in the field of education, teachers, students and anyone interested in art who wish to explore the potential role of art as an educational tool.
INTRODUCTION
This course aims to provide reading guidelines on the subject of the main artistic forms [movements?] in the second half of the twentieth century, in order to achieve an overview of contemporary art, and to explode the myth that is cryptic and difficult to understand.
OBJECTIVES
The main objective is to introduce contemporary art by understanding it as a playful tool for gaining knowledge and entertainment. Based upon this premise, the course will set out five further objectives:
- To provide basic notions which allow for the examination of contemporary art practices from an open and flexible perspective.
- To provide information on the works of contemporary artists who form part of the MACBA Collection, adding greater value by reading from the original sources.
- To come closer to contemporary art through direct ludic experience within the museum's hallway spaces.
- To generate a space for joint dialogue and reflection, to encourage the exchange of ideas among teachers .
- To explore the possibilities of connection between conceptual knowledge and models of teaching - learning in the classroom.
- To offer practical and conceptual resources for applying artistic content within the classroom.
COURSE CONTENT
During the sessions, aspects linked equally to production and to the creative process of specific works will be analysed, from different perspectives and approaches:
- Key concepts which highlight contemporary artworks
- New artistic languages for a new technological society
- Reading artists' texts as a basis for critical analysis
In addition, participants will have the direct ludic experience of the Museum's hallway spaces, in order to enrich their knowledge of the historical context in which the works studied are inscribed, emphasis will be placed on reading and analytical consideration of artists' texts .
Considering the museum as a dynamic instrument where ideas and knowledge may be exchanged from a flexible perspective, makes a ludic and respectful introduction easier for participants.
METHODOLOGY
The course will combine lectures, offering an overview of art from the second half of the twentieth century to the present day, and sessions of work and observation within the Museum itself. Special attention is paid to the working sessions with the whole group, with the intention of encouraging the exchange of ideas and thoughts through dialogue between all participants, guaranteeing their personal enrichment. More practical proposals will be shared out on occasions on an individual basis, or on other occasions, in workgroups.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
The evaluation plan includes two types of evaluations: an evaluation of the training received by the participants, and an evaluation required to obtain course certification. The evaluation will consist of a practical application of the contents learned throughout the course activities.
LECTURER
Cloe Masotta has a degree in Humanities and Audiovisual Communication, and has completed a master's degree in Contemporary Film and Audiovisual Studies (UPF). Currently combines studies in theory and critique of contemporary art in PEI (Independent Study Program) at MACBA and PhD in Communication (UPF) with her activity as a critic, analyst and professor of cinema and contemporary art.
