Coinciding with the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival, every autumn the traditional Zombie Walk is organised through the town’s streets, a parade of zombies made up in keeping with the aesthetic of horror, and the disturbing sense of angst associated with violence and human evil.

The English philosopher Thomas Hobbes (1588 - 1679) popularised a sentence by the Latin comedy playwright Plautus, according to which "Man is a wolf to man." For Hobbes, man is evil by nature and lives in a state of constant war of all against all. A century later, the French philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau proclaimed that human beings are originally good, and that living together in society corrupts them, conditioned by negative values.

The debate over the original goodness or evil of humanity arises in some religions. Manichaeans believe that both good and evil have a divine origin, which explains why there are injustices in the world, and why bad things happen. Judaism considers humanity to be good and bad at the same time, and therefore insists on the responsibility of human beings. Catholicism believes that in spite of sin, humans have a natural tendency toward good. In Protestantism, on the other hand, humans are evil by nature because, even if they try, they cannot stop being so.

It is said that children are pure and innocent. But this is not always the case. When I was four years old, I had a bad day, and I deliberately ran a finch that we had caged at home through with a pencil, and it ended up dying. An action I have always regretted. Now to this day I still ask myself: where did that evil instinct come from?

Journalist and writter

Adrià Costa (Vic, 1978). He remembers how his father developed photos at home, and soon became attracted to photography. Over time, he decided to expand his knowledge at the Institut d’Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya (IFEC). In April 2005, coinciding with the birth of the weekly Osona Comarca, he began to dedicate himself professionally to photojournalism. In 2009 he made the leap to NacióDigital, where he still works.

Toni Coromina (Vic, 1955). Writer and journalist. Since 1987 he has been a collaborator in a variety of media in Osona. Editor of El Pardal Moderat (Vic 1991-1992), a humourist for Ràdio 4 and Rac-1 (1996-1998), contributor to La Vanguardia (1992-2018), where he wrote the scripts for the daily cartoon strip Ventura & Coromina (2000-2012), opinion articles, and pieces on social and cultural issues. Published books include Rebotiga d'Il·lustres, with Albert Om (Premsa d'Osona 1989); El que la sigue la persigue, a biography of the members of the musical group El Último de la Fila (Editorial Can, 1995); Cafè Vic, retrat d’una generació de rebels i bromistes (Ajuntament de Vic-Eumo Editorial, 2007); A favor o en contra, dietari d’un perruquer somiatruites (Témenos Edicions, 2014); Òxid de Boira, col·lectiu d’artistes de Vic (Galeria El Carme, 2016); El bisbe ludòpata i altres contes (Témenos Edicions, 2016); La Rita i en Kubala, conte (Témenos 2018); El Color de la Vida. / 40 anys de Salut Mental a Osona (Osonament, 2019).
